Austin Mejdrich is a dedicated public servant with a career rooted in improving government services for the people. He currently serves as the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Illinois Department of Insurance. Before this role, Austin served as Chief of Staff to State Sen. Mark Walker, where he gained firsthand experience navigating state government and advocating for residents. In that role, he helped countless constituents, many of whom lived in Wheeling Township, cut through red tape and access the programs, benefits, and services they depended on.

As a Trustee on the Wheeling Township Board, Austin brings his passion for responsive, transparent government to the local level. He is proud to be the Board's first openly LGBTQ+ elected official, and he remains committed to fostering inclusive, effective leadership that reflects the diverse communities of Wheeling Township.

In his free time, he enjoys attending live music events whenever possible and participating in community activities. He is a resident of Arlington Heights.
