POSITION TITLE
Senior & Disability Services Resource Specialist - Full-Time/Exempt
- Acts as SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) Counselor;
- Provides Medicaid redetermination assistance;
- Provides information, referrals and assistance pertaining to the senior and disabled residents in Wheeling Township and/or and their families;
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Excellent written communication and public speaking/presentation skills;
- Excellent organization skills; outstanding attention to detail;
- Excellent listening skills and compassion for resident/family;
POSITION DETAILS:
SENIOR SERVICES
- Determine resident's/family's needs through intake and investigation; provide information on external and internal services; provide external/internal referrals and advocacy as needed;
- Provide Medicare counseling as SHIP representative, with eventual goal of becoming SHIP Site Coordinator; provide Benefit Access assistance;
- Provide Medicaid redeterminations, advocacy and engagement, as needed;
- Provide assistance to residents requiring help with ITAC/Government phones;
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3+ years' experience in senior services or related field;
- College degree required, ideally in relevant discipline;
- Must pass criminal record check, good driving record (MVR) and be finger printed;
- Successfully complete CPR training, SHIP training (if not already certified),
