POSITION TITLE

Senior & Disability Services Resource Specialist - Full-Time/Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  • Acts as SHIP (Senior Health Insurance Program) Counselor;
  • Provides Medicaid redetermination assistance;
  • Provides information, referrals and assistance pertaining to the senior and disabled residents in Wheeling Township and/or and their families;

POSITION DETAILS:

SENIOR SERVICES

  1. Determine resident's/family's needs through intake and investigation; provide information on external and internal services; provide external/internal referrals and advocacy as needed;
  2. Provide Medicare counseling as SHIP representative, with eventual goal of becoming SHIP Site Coordinator; provide Benefit Access assistance;
  3. Provide Medicaid redeterminations, advocacy and engagement, as needed;
  4. Provide assistance to residents requiring help with ITAC/Government phones;

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3+ years' experience in senior services or related field;
  • College degree required, ideally in relevant discipline;
  • Must pass criminal record check, good driving record (MVR) and be finger printed;
  • Successfully complete CPR training, SHIP training (if not already certified),

POSITION TITLE:Home Delivered Meal Program Coordinator - Part-Time/Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

  1. Coordinate and manage all aspects of the Township's very successful Home Delivered Meals Program
  2. Recruit/train/schedule/maintain all Home Delivered Meals Program volunteers
  3. Onboard/manage all Home Delivered Meals Program clients and volunteers

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Extremely well organized and detail-oriented;
  2. Experience with volunteer recruitment/training/management;
  3. Knowledge of - and sensitivity to - working with seniors and persons with disabilities;
  4. Knowledge of geographic area and/or capacity to learn quickly
  5. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, so as to effectively communicate with public, clients, and volunteers.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Volunteer & Client Recruitment/Training/Scheduling

  1. Recruit/maintain new volunteers; receive and review applications;
  2. Work with new clients to determine eligibility; liaise with medical personnel for qualification; review routing to properly place client on a route; update monthly routesheets;
  3. Determine volunteer openings to be filled on monthly schedule; match applicant availability with needs;
  4. Anticipate need for sub- and backup drivers whenever possible; maintain robust list of substitute drivers;
  5. Accurately communicate new weekly/monthly opportunities; update volunteers on available routes/days;
  6. Accurately disseminate updated scheduling and routing information on an as-needed basis;
  7. Prepare and distribute monthly newsletter;
  8. Respond in timely manner to all volunteer and client inquiries;
  9. Communicate encouragement/appreciation via various means;
  10. Assist with implementation of appreciation events.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  1. Proven experience in working with Volunteers;
  2. Demonstrated experience in relevant disciplines such as Project Management, Event Planning, Program Coordination and/or Volunteer Management;
